Project 2022-2023 – Step two in the Digital Education Journey
This project will be based on the successfully completed project in 2021/2022. The aim of this project is to further expand computer education and to further connect several schools in Yele to the program of educational improvements.
A. Expansion and renovation of all schools so that the right quality and safety can be guaranteed in (separate project € 180,000).
B. Cluster mentor for both the 5 primary and secondary schools.
During the past years the cluster mentor has proven its worth and in consultation with students, teachers and board we want to continue this activity because the cluster mentor ensures that the taught study guidelines are followed correctly and new teachers receive the same teaching methodologies that in the Teach -The-Teacher program are taught.
C. Teaching program Teach-the-Teacher for 5 schools in the outskirts of Yele.
During the Teach-The-Theach program in 2020-2021, it appeared that 3 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in the rural areas were interested in the successful Teach-the-Teacher program and in the program for 2021/2022 we gave an introduction to this program at these 5 schools. The first results have been positively received and that is why we are continuing this. The aim is also to relieve the burden on schools in Yele and to ensure that students do not have to travel as far.
D. Expansion of the computer room so that all students can receive computer education.
In Project A, an extra computer lab is being built, resulting in a total of 2 computer labs, including 40 laptops. As a result, more computer lessons can be given.
E. Expansion Digital Education Trolley to 2 extra per school.
F. Basic computer education for primary school teachers and all secondary school teachers.
Not only students need computer knowledge, but teachers should also be able to use the computers. (in project 2021/2022) only a selected number of teachers received computer education.
Project 2023-2024 – The third step in the Digital Education Journey
This project will be based on the successfully completed project in 2022/2023. The aim of this project is also to provide the more remote schools with computer education. We also want to promote access to the Internet.
B. Extensions of digital education trolley facilities.
In project 2021-2022, one trolley was distributed per primary school, this was expanded to 4 trolleys (3 extra) per school so that several smaller groups can receive computer education.
C. Expansion of internet facilities for secondary schools so that permanent use can be made of the internet in computer labs.
At the moment, Wi-Fi boxes are used that are mobile, but have a relatively small capacity. New developments make it possible to use either satellite connections or a direct fixed connection to one of the internet providers.
D. Expansion of digital education trolley, 1 extra per primary school (so a total of 4 per school).
E. Basic computer education for 5 schools in rural areas of Yele.
The 5 schools in the outlying areas also receive one trolley containing a solar panel, battery, laptop, WiFi modem and projector. Software is installed on the laptop that supports computer education. In addition, every teacher receives a basic computer education.
